10 weeks and counting!

Last night before we put Evelyn to bed, Jody and I debated whether or not we should cover her in a receiving blanket. We've been doing this since she was born, as she hated to have her hands covered and be swaddled. So instead we have been kind of wrapping her up in a receiving blanket. Lately she's been managing to kick it off of herself in her sleep.

Yesterday we woke to find the blanket wrapped around her torso but her legs and arms were free to move around. So, I asked Jody if we should cover her with the blanket last night and we agreed to. I also asked him if I should take her toys and other (thick) blanket out of the crib because they were sitting at the other end of her crib... he said "nah, she can't make it to the other side of the bed yet." WRONG.

This morning I woke up and went to check on her and she had scooted herself all the way down to the other side of the bed lol! She was stopped by the toys lying there, otherwise I'm sure she would have made it to the very end. I called Jody into the room to check it out and he was as surprised as I was! I guess from now on we're going to have to put her in the sleep sack at bedtime. During the day I check on her frequently so I make sure nothing's covering her face and that she's not getting wrapped up. I can't believe she's moving around so much already!

In other news, I started work last Monday. So far it's been going well. For those that don't know, I work from home mostly. I'm lucky enough to have a job that allows me to do this. If I had to pay for daycare, I probably wouldn't work because it wouldn't be worth it. Anyway, Evelyn has been doing very well during the day even when I can't pay attention to her for a while. She either lays on the bed in my office (AKA the guest room) or in her crib. After her "Lunch" feeding I usually move her downstairs and let her play on her activity mat for a while (if she's awake), otherwise she sleeps in her swing. So far so good.

Ultimately my goal is not to work anymore. We could most likely afford our same lifestyle off of Jody's new salary, but we have some things that we want to pay off first before I consider no longer working... For now it's good to have the extra income!
